“Ugly, ugly girl!”
The girl lived in Tenebrae Manor, a nightmare world of frightening visions and impossible supernatural beings. Yet still she yearned for the fantastic contours of her daydreams, a world where even her hopelessly romantic notions were possible.
Despite being an adolescent human girl, Madlyn is even more bizarre than the monsters that dwell with her. She stumbled into Tenebrae Manor lost and devoid of her senses; Bordeaux taking pity on the girl and putting her to work in the kitchens in hope of re-establishing her mind. Since then she has surprised many – that final fraying thread of her sanity holding fast far longer than anybody had expected. Especially given her unfortunate position as servant to the demanding Lady Libra, who has taken advantage of the poor girl’s innocence and forces Madlyn to answer her every whim. A born dreamer, Madlyn lives the fairytales in head as if they were reality; seemingly not realising that she is in fact already living in a tangible fantasy.
