Happy new year to you, readers. I hope it was a restful close to 2025 and that you’re full of energy moving into 2026.
For my first post of the year I thought I’d share with you what I’ve been up to in the months following the release of my novel, Australian Gothic. As it is a work I am particularly proud of, I am going full speed ahead to try and garner as many readers as possible; as such I’ve been driving around New South Wales and providing copies to interested bookstores.
It’s a challenging proposition for a small business owner to take a punt on a no-name author such as myself, yet I sit here thankful to those independent bookstores who have willingly taken some copies to place on their shelves.

I’ve continued to busy myself scattering copies of Australian Gothic about the place, dropping by any street library I come across. Street libraries are a wonderful way to spread the joy of books and I’d recommend you check out any that you see, you might find your new favourite, or better yet – share a great book with someone else – pay it forward!
But why stop at street libraries? There a honest and good bricks-and-mortar libraries everywhere that you can visit. Lane Cove Library, who I have collaborated with in the past, has a copy of Australian Gothic that you can check out today (and more to a point – just sit and enjoy the great space they have there).
And when all was done (for now at least), I kicked back with a coffee to do some reading of my own in a Goulburn cafe. A bit of the Good Book and a touch of weird fiction for good measure. Happy reading in 2026! I hope you find a new favourite!
More to come.
