Alone, I’d Rather Be

Vocals, Electric Guitars, Electric Piano, Back-Masked Piano, Bass, Drums – Pinnacle Tricks

Ceilings change
I stare deranged
Nights forever strange
Speak again no more, my friend
We’re nothing but a name
As good as dead no more be said
Cry softly in your bed
Naught to be won
As good as done
I’d rather be alone
Yeah I’d rather be alone

Feels as though, as though I’m down
And run into the ground
The darkness chase, bereft of grace
And hope is never found
Enough to see from you to me
Alone, I came to be
The darkness chase, bereft of grace
Alone, I came to be
Yeah alone, I came to be

Feel as though I’m down
Speak no more again, my friend
We’re nothing but a name
As good as dead, no more be said
I’d rather be alone
I said I’d rather be alone
The darkness chase, bereft of grace
And hope is never found

Fins Up

Electric Guitars, Bass, Drums – Pinnacle Tricks

(instrumental)

Femme Fatale

Vocals, Electric Guitars, Steel Drum, Marimba, Bass, Drums – Pinnacle Tricks

She’s as big as the full moon
I’m lost in the night
Scream for her from my shadows
Whisper to her light
I’d give her all that I have
But it’s not what she wants

Last Harvest

Electric Guitars, 12-String Guitar, Mandolin, Cello, Bass, Hand Drum, Tambourine – Pinnacle Tricks

(instrumental)

Everything Was Beautiful (And Nothing Hurt)

Vocals, Acoustic Guitars, Piano – Pinnacle Tricks

So it goes
Children’s crusade
And a duty dance with death
All this happened more or less
Why anything?
How nice to feel nothing at all
And still get full credit for being alive
Trapped in the amber of this moment

It Gets Worse

Electric Guitars, Piano, Mandolin, Muttering – Pinnacle Tricks

(instrumental)

Crown of Thorns

Vocals, Electric Guitars, 12-String Guitar, Back-Masked Guitar, Bass, Organ, Tambourine – Pinnacle Tricks

How are we different from those who’d say
Let him save himself; you king of kings, you ancient of days
Our words are thrown before the stone is rolled away
And who’d uphold what we were told when it don’t fit today?

I’m overwhelmed to take the helm of unyielding sorrow
And meet an end without a friend whose strength I might borrow
To shine a light that’s infinite, the dawning of day
A price to pay with jars of clay, hear the mockers say:

Kneel down and take your crown of thorns
A cross to bear wouldn’t tear the faith from my soul
If it’s up to us to stop the rust, then I’d rather trust you
To take it all, cut the vines, start again for you, child

Deny the word, forget we heard: the servant’s no greater
Can we learn and take the turn if our master is hate?
Love of self, pursuit of wealth in dust on the shelf
We’re all the same, we call his name when there’s no one else to blame

So kneel down and take your crown of thorns
A cross to bear wouldn’t tear the faith from my soul
If it’s up to us to stop the rust, then I’d rather trust you
To take it all, cut the vines, start again for you, child
